The time had finally come last Saturday. The Procreate course took place.
It was the first course that I initiated myself and that was not for a closed group. People could register individually.
Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take photos. Luckily, one of the participants took a photo and was so kind as to share it with me.
The ambience in Bistro Cartonage was very cosy. As there were only four participants, I was able to cater to their individual wishes.
I love giving courses and showing others the possibilities that digital drawing opens up. I wish everyone who took part lots of fun trying it out.
But that's not the whole story.
The course was super great, but at times it felt like one of the biggest setbacks I've experienced in connection with my illustration work. No one had signed up by the closing date. Despite the fact that I was often asked last year whether I also offer courses. I had to cancel the children's course that I had also advertised as I couldn't reach anyone nearby. But then a few people did sign up in the last few hours. That really was a relief.
All in all, I've probably learnt a lot now. I realise that I need to approach it differently to reach more people and hope to get more registrations next time.
Also, next time it should be possible to advertise the courses earlier and not as spontaneously as this time.
Nevertheless, it shows that the path to achieving your dreams is not always a steep uphill climb and you always have to put up with setbacks.
No matter what you are working on, don't give up, even if it seems hopeless at the moment.
